Deadline Approaching: Get 10DLC Registered with GoBig

Updated: Nov 25

Written by Brandon Aragon, Vice President of Accounts

I promise this isn’t a campaign fundraising email!

But now that I have your attention, this email has everything to do with the way your campaign, PAC, organization or government office will be able to reach voters and constituents via text messaging.

Starting December 1, 2024, carriers will no longer support unregistered text messages. If your campaign, PAC, organization, or government office has been using unregistered messaging routes, you will be required to complete the registration process before those routes can be used again.

Fortunately, the Go BIG team is here to assist you throughout the entire process of registering for 10DLC, ensuring that you can continue to reach voters and constituents via text messaging as the deadline approaches and throughout the 2025 election cycle and beyond.

Now you might be asking, what is 10DLC? 10DLC stands for "10-digit long code" and refers to a specific type of phone number used for messaging in the U.S. It is a 10-digit phone number (like a regular local phone number) designed for campaigns, PACs, organizations and even government offices to send SMS (text messages) and MMS (multimedia messages) to voters or constituents.

Why are carriers moving toward registered vs. unregistered text messaging? Carriers are increasingly moving toward registered versus unregistered text messaging primarily to improve the quality, security, and compliance of messaging on their networks. This shift addresses several key issues related to spam, fraud, and message deliverability.

Don’t wait, act now! Waiting until the December 1, 2024 deadline may lead to delays, disruptions, and the potential blocking of messages. Click the button below to reach out to our team and we’ll get started on the process ASAP!
