Meta just released how its platforms will operate during the election cycle, and while the policies aren’t entirely new, they reinforce something we tell campaigns every cycle:

The 2026 cycle will favor campaigns that build their digital programs early and execute with intention.

Here’s what campaigns and advertisers should know:

  • The final-week ad freeze is back. Meta will block new political ads during the last seven days before Election Day.

  • AI-generated political ads now require disclosure, adding another layer to creative planning.

  • Political ads remain fully transparent, with authorization, disclaimers, and seven years of visibility in Meta’s Ad Library.

What does this mean?

Winning campaigns won’t be built in October. They’re built months earlier, through testing, audience growth, and strategic planning. In today’s political environment, persuasion among voters has become more challenging than ever. This Election will be shaped by an overarching theme of campaigns that succeed in connecting with voters and effectively communicate the issues that will emotionally resonate with voters in the digital space.

At Go Big Media, we’re already helping campaigns:

✔ Gather data and verify ad infrastructure early

✔ Build compliant, transparent digital programs ahead of time

✔ Grow custom audiences months ahead of persuasion pushes

If you’re not sure your campaign is ready for 2026, now is the time to start the conversation. Shoot us an email below, or read Meta’s full 2026 elections update ⬇️
